The Benedictine counterpart of the Christian praise songs are the chants. In the morning, we sanctify our day by reading and singing the Psalms. The Christian Liturgy of the Hours is arranged in one month intervals. Our Divine office, connected to our monastery Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Peace, is in two week interval. This means that we finished all the psalms in two weeks. St. Benedict in His Rule left it to the Abbot to discern what is best for his community. The ideal is to finish all psalms in 1 week.
